WHAT IS LOC(DREADLOCS,DREADS)
Locs are gathered strands that have intentionally matted up according toSisterlocked
TYPES OF LOCS.
1. TRADITIONAL LOCS
This are the locs that are made with with finger coils or comb curls. This is called traditional because, it's this locs that comes to our mind when locs are mentioned.
2. SISTERLOCKS
These locs are very tiny but their size ranges and they are not usually large.
3. FREE-FORM LOCS
This locs are often referred to as organically or original dreads. They are formed by not taking too much care of the hair. Just like washing the hair and leaving it alone(no detangling, just washing). The locs take whatever shape they desire, and they are usually very large with unequal sizes.
4. INTERLOCS
This locs are formed by crocheting the hair into each other (to my understanding).
5. BRAIDLOCS
The hair is locked with micro to large braids but it might take a long time for the braid pattern to disappear.

ReplyDeleteLocs usually formed on their own for some people right from birth. It seems to be the in thing now
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are formed from birth. It is when the hair is undermaintained that the free form locs form. Which we call dahdah in Nigeria
